Caroline Shotton - May Day
The original 'May Day' featured hay that was soaked in PVA glue (that Caroline had to set her alarm at hourly intervals through the night to go and press the ever expanding hay back down to the canvas!) and embellished with hand pressed flowers.
Always an artist to bring a smile. The parent cow has been ambushed in this piece - dressed up and made to wear flowers in their hair! You can just see the look of helpless dismay on their face, and a look of subtle amusement in the calves!
